Are you passionate about keeping people and property safe? Do you have the expertise to ensure fire safety compliance across a diverse estate portfolio? We’re seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Temporary Fire Safety Advisor to join our clients Estates team to help maintain the highest standards of fire safety across County Antrim.
Your new role
This is an initial temporary contract with no defined duration. Based from Antrim, working full-time hours, 37.5 per week Monday to Friday, you will cover the country Antrim area from Newtownabbey to the north coast area.
The main responsibilities include:
- Conduct fire risk assessments across a range of public sector buildings
- Advise on fire safety legislation, standards, and best practices
- Support Estates and Facilities teams in implementing fire safety measures
- Liaise with external agencies, including the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service
- Deliver fire safety training and awareness sessions to staff
What you'll need to succeed
To be eligible for this opportunity, you will meet one of the following criteria:
Degree in Building/Engineering/Fire Safety discipline with 1 years experience in a fire safety role which must include carrying out workplace fire risk assessments in complex buildings.
OR
HNC/D in Building/Engineering/Fire Safety discipline with 3 years experience in a fire safety role which must include carrying out workplace fire risk assessments in complex buildings.
OR
Membership of the Institute of Fire Engineers (MIFireE), plus 1 years experience in a fire safety role which must include carrying out workplace fire risk assessments in complex buildings.
OR
Graduate Membership of the Institute of Fire Engineers (GMIFireE), plus 3 years experience in a fire safety role which must include carrying out workplace fire risk assessments in complex buildings.
OR
Minimum of 5 years experience of working as a Fire Safety Officer in the Built Environment.
OR
NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or Fire Safety and Risk Management and 3 years experience in a fire safety role which must include carrying out workplace fire risk assessments in complex buildings.
OR
Firefighter with a minimum of 5 years experience with a minimum 3 years having been spent in a fire safety role which must include carrying out workplace fire risk assessments in complex buildings.
What you'll get in return
This is a temporary position, ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact in a short-term capacity. Salary is £36,483 per annum, pro rata, depending on the length of the contract.
You will be paid every Friday via bank transfer along with the equivalent of 37 days paid annual leave including bank holidays.
