Operating both in the UK and across the world, they are a leading contractor delivering projects across multiple sectors including; real estate, defence, education, highways, rail and water.
Your new role
You will join one of the main infrastructure projects in the region, supporting them in their highways division. You will join a successful team of Project Managers, Agents and Engineers and contribute to the delivery of a £100 Million project playing a key part in improving Norwich's infrastructure.
Your Duties:Maintain an independent position from the delivery team to ensure objective technical judgment. Intervene when necessary—such as during significant changes to construction methodology, sequencing, temporary works, or when excessive ground movement or risks to permanent works are identified.
Promote high-quality, safe, and innovative engineering solutions with a strong focus on low-carbon and sustainable practices across all project phases.
Oversee all technical aspects of construction, ensuring compliance with relevant processes, procedures, and engineering standards for both temporary and permanent works.
Lead the implementation of Skanska’s Digital Journey by ensuring the exclusive use of 3D design models for project delivery. Oversee the digital handover process to ensure accurate and complete project data at completion.
Oversee the project’s Quality Assurance processes, ensuring all engineering outputs meet required standards. Manage all project-related information and data to maintain accuracy, traceability, and accessibility.
Approval of major permits: to dig, to load, to strike.
Liaise with the appointed person for the management of materials to ensure technical aspects of their selection, and use, are addressed appropriately.What you'll need to succeed
Actively working towards Chartered Membership with the ICE or an equivalent professional body (essential).
Strong background in construction delivery (essential).
Design management experience, particularly in multidisciplinary environments.
Experience in engineering management (desirable).
Exposure to temporary works design or coordination (desirable).
Experience in highway engineering or infrastructure projects (desirable).
