Energy organisation requires an IT lead
Infrastructure Lead/Manager
Are you ready to take charge of a dynamic and fast-paced IT environment? Our client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Manager to oversee and manage their critical infrastructure, including servers, Hyper-V, communications hardware/software, firewalls, switches, SANs, IT security, and monitoring.
You will also lead and mentor one additional IT staff member.
Typical Duties :
- Microsoft Technologies:
Manage and administer Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, WSUS, WDS, and Exchange. - Networking Equipment:
Install, configure, and maintain core networking equipment (switches, routers). - Cybersecurity:
Identify and address cybersecurity risks, configure and maintain firewalls. - Infrastructure Security:
Oversee antivirus, vulnerability scanning, pen testing, Windows Firewall, patching, web and email filtering. - Virtualisation and SAN:
Manage and configure virtualized environments and SAN. - Server Infrastructure:
Install and maintain server infrastructure, including hardware maintenance and server patching. - Third-Party Support:
Collaborate with third-party suppliers to support all systems. - Backup Management:
Manage daily, weekly, and monthly backup cycles. - Cloud Services:
Administer Azure (AAD, functions, apps, VMs). - Technical Documentation:
Create and maintain technical documentation. - Application Support:
Provide application support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
5+ years in a similar role. - Technical Qualifications:
Azure AZ104, Microsoft 365, CCNA. - Security Qualifications:
Security+ / SSCP (beneficial).
Essential Skills:
- Virtualisation:
Proficiency in Hyper-V. - Firewall Management:
Rule/policy creation, NAT, VPN configuration. - Networking:
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, IPSEC, VLANs, switching, WiFi, routing, LAN, WAN. - Operating Systems:
In-depth knowledge of Windows Server, Windows 10/11. - Active Directory:
Thorough knowledge of Active Directory and Domain Controllers. - Problem-Solving:
Tenacious and pragmatic problem-solving skills. - Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
