The team supports a wide range of legal matters and plays a key role in shaping planning and development across the region.

Your new role
As a Senior Planning Solicitor, you’ll provide expert legal advice and representation on a broad range of planning and highways matters. You’ll support functions such as development control, enforcement, village greens, and complex Section 106 agreements. You’ll attend planning committees, advise elected members and officers, and contribute to policy and procedural development. You’ll also assist in supervising junior staff and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality legal service. This role will be primarily remote with 1 day in the office per month.

You’ll be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with a current practising certificate and ideally 7PQE+ experience in planning law. You should have a solid background advising at planning committees, drafting legal agreements, and ideally some experience within a local authority setting. Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills are essential.

What you'll get in return
You’ll join a supportive and inclusive legal team where your expertise will be valued and your development encouraged. The role offers flexible working arrangements, a varied and rewarding caseload, and the opportunity to make a real impact in the community.
