Contracts and Procurement – 5 month contract

A forward-thinking public sector legal team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Solicitor (Contracts and Procurement) to join their dynamic and collaborative environment. Your new role
As a Senior Solicitor within the Contracts and Procurement team, you will:
  • Provide expert legal advice on public sector contracts and procurement law
  • Draft, negotiate, and advise on complex contractual documentation
  • Support procurement processes in line with current legislation, including the Procurement Act 2023
  • Advise on governance and corporate legal matters
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders, including directors and elected officials
  • Contribute to training and mentoring initiatives within the team
  • Handle high-profile and sensitive legal matters with confidence and professionalism
This is a senior-level role with no direct line management responsibilities but with significant influence and visibility across the organisation.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister eligible to practise in England and Wales
  • Extensive experience in contracts and procurement law, ideally within the public sector
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to service excellence
  • Experience advising on governance and corporate projects is highly desirable
