Local Authority EL/PL Solicitor sought after by highly-regarded defendant law firm
Your new company
Our client is a highly-regarded defendant law firm who are looking to strengthen their local authority department with the appointment of a Solicitor/CILEX/Experienced Paralegal/Chartered Legal Executive to join their Casualty Injury team in their Birmingham office. This role offers office-based, hybrid or remote working, but you will need to come into their Birmingham office once a month or for training and client events as required.
Your new role
You will be dealing with a wide range of mainly (but not exclusively) public sector cases for local authorities such as housing associations, charities and other bodies. The team deals with mainly EL/PL, occupiers liability and highway liability with plenty of strong liability issues including cases which will go to trial. You will be working in a team of fee earners handling mainly casualty injury cases and will be required to run your own cases and assist with heavy weight cases including high-profile catastrophic claims. You will handle a varied workload and will support marketing and business development activity within the team e.g. attending marketing events and client training.
What you'll need to succeed
You should be a qualified solicitor/chartered legal executive with experience in EL/PL, occupiers liability and highway liability claims. Experience assisting with higher-value casualty claims is beneficial. Experience working with local authorities is beneficial. In-house solicitors with personal injury experience are encouraged to apply.
What you'll get in return
This is a great opportunity for solicitors and/or chartered legal executives with casualty experience. You will gain experience working alongside a range of public sector clients, focusing on building and maintaining relationships. A competitive salary and home working is available dependent on experience.
