Your new role
In this role, you’ll join a specialist litigation team based in Belfast, working at the forefront of insurance-related legal services. You’ll contribute to a wide range of complex and high-profile cases, gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced and mentally engaging environment. This is a unique opportunity to develop your legal career within a team that handles some of the most challenging and varied disputes in the region.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the delivery of legal advice on risk, liability, and indemnity issues across a range of insurance matters.
- Assisting in the defence of civil claims, from large-scale injury cases to routine employer and public liability disputes.
- Contributing to regulatory defence work, including health and safety investigations and inquest representation.
- Working on professional indemnity matters involving clients in sectors such as finance, construction, healthcare, and property.
- Advising on complex policy interpretation and claims strategy for both local and international insurers.
- Gaining exposure to specialist areas such as directors’ and officers’ liability and institutional risk.
What you'll need to succeed
- A qualified solicitor (1–3 years PQE) in Northern Ireland, with demonstrable experience in litigation—ideally within the insurance or liability space.
- A self-motivated approach with the confidence to take ownership of tasks and contribute proactively to team goals.
- Clear and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid legal research capabilities and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate work.
- Experience managing a portfolio of lower to mid-value claims, with the flexibility to support senior colleagues on more complex, high-stakes matters.
What you'll get in return
Enjoy a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible working, wellbeing support, and access to global secondment opportunities. You'll be part of a collaborative, inclusive culture that values authenticity, professional growth, and innovation. With a strong focus on learning, development, and sustainability, this is a place where your career can thrive and your contributions truly matter.
