Build and Deployment Engineer - £25.15p/h

Security & Location Requirements:
  • Must be SC cleared, a UK national, and not hold dual nationality.
  • Will need to attend Derby sites and potentially other remote locations based on project needs.
  • Must be flexible to work outside standard hours.
Build & Test:
  • Build up to 1605 Windows 11 devices in line with the agreed deployment schedule.
  • Current build facilities support throughput of approximately 250 devices per week.
  • Perform Client-mandated testing procedures for all new builds, including patch updates and application installations.
  • Conduct a pilot deployment to validate the supplier process and ensure the new device/build meets expected standards.
Desktop Deployments:
  • Physically prepare devices for shipment and load for transportation.
  • Deploy up to 50 devices per day to identified users as per the schedule.
  • Deployments will occur during working hours.
  • Ensure each device functions correctly and obtain Client representative sign-off.
  • Provide Early Life Support for one day following each deployment block.
  • Collect legacy devices from desks and return them to the storage area for decommissioning/disposal.
Laptop Deployments:
  • Deploy up to 50 devices per day, based on 10-minute appointments and the agreed schedule.
  • All laptops must follow defined Client security practices, including USB warning stickers, tamper-proof labels, Client-specified identifier stickers, and pre-boot PIN and BitLocker password changes (where applicable).
  • Assist users with checklist completion and obtain user sign-off.
  • Receive legacy devices from users and return them for decommissioning/disposal.
  • Provide deployment completion updates to the Client at intervals agreed during project initiation.
Mop-Up:
  • Complete re-arranged deployments and collect replaced devices.
Decommissioning:
  • Legacy devices will be retained for three weeks post-replacement at the client facility.
  • After the holding period, disk drives/memory will be removed in preparation for supplier disposal.
  • Drives/memory will be disposed of on-site following the standard Client disposal method.
