Site Manager – Permanent – Birmingham – Established Contractor – Major Infrastructure Projects – Civils

You will be joining a well-established and multi-accredited civil engineering contractor based in Birmingham with a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure projects across the UK. They have a strong pipeline of work, offer excellent opportunities for career progression and, as part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Site Manager to join their delivery team in the Midlands.
This is a full-time permanent position based in the Birmingham area.
Your new role
As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of civil engineering works on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing site operations from site set‑up through to completion
- Leading, mentoring and coordinating site teams, subcontractors and suppliers
- Ensuring full compliance with health, safety and environmental standards
- Planning and sequencing civil works to meet project milestones and budgets
- Overseeing RAMS, temporary works and quality control processes
- Liaising closely with the Project Manager, engineers and client representatives
- Identifying and resolving technical, programme or resource challenges proactively.
This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to a Site Manager who takes pride in delivering well‑organised, safe and efficient sites.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within heavy civils, ideally on large-scale infrastructure projects
- Strong technical knowledge of civils works, including drainage, groundworks and reinforced concrete
- Commitment to health & safety and quality assurance
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills
- CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid
- Full UK driving licence.
