DevOps Engineer (Azure) - Permanent - Bristol - Up to c£57k - Hybrid Working
Hays are supporting a public sector organisation based in North Bristol who are recruiting for a permanent Azure DevOps Engineer. The role is paying up to c£57k depending on experience and offers hybrid working typically 2 days per week on site (free parking).
In the role you will join an Agile development team and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and cloud-based solutions on Microsoft Azure. Your work will directly support rapid, reliable, and secure software delivery in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with developers, QA, and product owners to streamline build, test, and deployment processes.
- Design and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Services.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
- Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and security.
- Automate routine tasks and support continuous integration and delivery best practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipeline configuration.
- Strong knowledge of Azure services (App Services, AKS, Azure Functions, etc.).
- Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps culture.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-400, AZ-104).
- Experience with monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Application Insights).
- Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
