SHEQ Advisor - Civil Engineering / Construction - Co. Tyrone / Donegal Based
Your new company
Your new company is a specialist Civil Engineering contractor, operating primarily in the infrastructure, rail and renewable energy sectors with a continuously expanding portfolio of works based in County Tyrone. Due to continued growth and recent contract awards across NI & ROI, the company are expanding in size & profile and are now seeking a SHEQ Advisor to join their experienced HSEQ team. This is a mix office / site-based role working primarily on a windfarm project based in Donegal.
Your new role
As a SHEQ Advisor, you will be responsible for overseeing HSEQ compliance across a range of civil engineering projects throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, primarily Donegal. You will ensure that all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures and regulations are effectively implemented, communicated and regularly reviewed.
Your duties will include completing and reviewing risk assessments and method statements, conducting site audits, inspections and incident investigations, and ensuring all findings are documented with improvements actioned. You will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture by delivering HSEQ initiatives, coordinating training and ensuring all personnel and visitors receive appropriate site inductions.
You will also support the ongoing development and maintenance of the integrated SHEQ management system, ensuring compliance with ISO standards (45001, 14001 & 9001). This role will involve regular travel to site and may require working away on a project-by-project basis.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a proven track record in a similar SHEQ role within a construction or civil engineering environment, with a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience. Experience within rail or windfarm projects would be advantageous but is not essential.
You will hold a NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) and demonstrate a strong working knowledge of SHEQ standards, audit procedures and the implementation of ISO management systems (45001, 14001 & 9001). Environmental and/or Quality qualifications would be beneficial.
You will possess excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, alongside strong IT proficiency including Microsoft Office packages. A full driving licence is essential, and you must be willing to travel and work across NI and border regions including Donegal.
