Your new company
Your new company is a multidisciplinary Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy, with a 45-year track record delivering sustainable, innovative and client-focused solutions across a range of development sectors, including residential, retail, commercial, industrial, education, nuclear and defence.

Since 2022, they have impressively doubled in staff turnover and revenue, and they continue to set their heights on organic growth across their 5 UK offices. As such, they are looking for ambitious, talented engineers who want to continue their development journey, taking accountability on a range of complex projects.

You will be based in your company's Chorley office, or Liverpool office, if that is more suitable.

Your new role
You will join the business at either Structural Engineer or Senior Structural Engineer level, which will be dictated by your previous experience. In both cases, you will be supporting the wider structural engineer teams across 2 offices with the design and delivery of your projects, including nuclear and defence schemes!

This means delivering designs through each RIBA stage, from feasibility through detail and into construction. Throughout these stages, it will be important to manage deliverables, through accurate reporting, considering client satisfaction and industry standards throughout. You will be responsible for structural calculations, construction drawings, report writing, and site visits to check compliance with drawings.

As a senior engineer, there will be a greater expectation to support Principals and Directors, oversee and check graduates work and progress and represent the company in client meetings more often.

What you'll need to succeed
  • In order to succeed, you should have a minimum of 3 years' experience, and for seniors a minimum of 5 years.
  • A Civil Engineering degree, or equivalent
  • Experience designing with building materials (steel, concrete, masonry) to EuroCode standard
  • Proficient in the use structural analysis software e.g. TEDDS, Masterseries, STAAD.Pro, SCIA, AutoCAD
  • At senior, expectation of nearing chartership qualification
