This consultancy provides a range of services in civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering design, serving sectors such as water, transportation, building, and infrastructure across Northern Ireland, Great Britain, and the Republic of Ireland. Main responsibilities of a Senior Structural Engineer:
  • Help design and deliver engineering solutions that meet client needs.
  • Prepare and issue technical documents, designs, and reports.
  • Create detailed drawings and specifications.
  • Aim for high-quality and innovative engineering work.
  • Work closely with senior engineers to manage time and resources.
  • Coordinate with other engineering teams to ensure the design works as a whole.
  • Follow company systems for safety, project management, and risk control.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in the role of Senior Structural Engineer, applicants should have between 3 to 5 years of UK-based experience. Proficiency in designing structures using concrete, steel, timber, and masonry is essential. Familiarity with finite element analysis software, technical report writing, and preparing specifications is highly desirable.
Additional experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous: temporary works, bridge and highway projects, or water-retaining structures. A solid understanding of British Standards and Eurocodes is required, along with practical knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
