The organisation's Communications & External Affairs Team is a small, multidisciplinary team with a focus on communicating the key stages of our live trade investigations and outcomes of our cases, whilst raising awareness of the organisation's services and purpose, via marketing, media, digital, events and stakeholder outreach and engagement.
We are building our profile in the Nations and English regions and recruiting a parliamentary engagement lead.
You will:
- In line with the Organisation's Communications Strategy, deliver key account management for our strategic engagement with parliaments in England, Scotland and Wales and with the respective devolved administrations, including Northern Ireland.
- You will advise the Executive Committee, Board and case teams on handling stakeholders in these groups, ensuring robust and effective strategies are in place to engage parliamentarians, elected members and stakeholders across all four nations of the UK on the organisation's mission and purpose.
- Plan and deliver a programme of parliamentary engagement, roundtables, parliamentary receptions, inputs to the organisation's monthly external newsletter, briefings for engagements and visits.
- Support case teams in briefing Parliamentarians around our trade remedy investigations, according to industry-specific regions and case milestones.
- Work closely with teams in the private Office and governance on visits management, and with organisation Policy colleagues who undertake technical and upskilling engagement with Westminster and devolved nations.
- Horizon scan the parliamentary and government landscape and monitor media coverage, updating the organisation on key insights and changes across Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland and relevant parliamentary trade policy groups and committees.
- Liaise with our Parliamentary Unit colleagues in the Department for Business & Trade (DBT), to align and partner with on parliamentary engagement, including relevant legislative changes related to the work of the organisations in the regions.
- Support wider media and stakeholder engagement strategies in the organisation (e.g. industry, media, legal, academic sectors), including delivery against agreed performance targets for stakeholders' reputation and satisfaction.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria- Excellent written/verbal communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to develop strong networks with a range of colleagues to deliver shared objectives.
- Business Development experience
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of working directly with the UK Parliament and/or with the Scottish Parliament, Senedd Cymru or Northern Ireland Assembly.
- Strategy development.
- Parliamentary Unit or Private Office experience.
- Experience working in a devolved context.

- People person with a confident nature to conduct business development with politicians and SME's
