Hays are delighted to be working with our client with an outstanding reputation in the construction industry. This company specialises in the construction of a variety of commercial new-build projects. They are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to be based in the West Midlands who has a wealth of tier-1 experience in commercial build projects.

Your new role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the success of projects by leading the commercial aspects and ensuring their seamless execution. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership & Strategy: Managing the project's commercial team and taking accountability for all pre- and post-contract strategies, commercial functions, and contract reporting.
  • Value Creation: Partnering with clients and industry leaders to enhance value, maintain regulatory compliance, and promote best practices, all while ensuring commercial success.
  • Financial Oversight: Ensure project cash-flow by preparing precise final accounts for main and subcontract agreements.

Key Deliverables:
  • Handle measurements, variations, contractual notices, and change valuations.
  • Manage procurement planning, subcontractor agreements, and supply chains.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly cost reports, project progress, and tender strategies for stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed:
  • Previous roles as a Senior QS is essential.
  • Experience delivering new-build commercial projects with a value of up to £50m.
  • Must have a tier-1 background.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations.
  • Appetite to go above and beyond in your role.
