Senior/Principal Process Engineer; Hydrogen; SME (Subject-Matter Expert)

A Global Leader in the speciality chemical manufacturing sector, with offices across the UK and Europe and looking for a Contract Senior Process Engineer to support the design and delivery of speciality projects.
Your new role
As a Senior Process Engineer, you will lead and deliver process design activities from concept through to detailed design. You will provide technical expertise across multi-disciplinary projects, supporting both project execution and bid development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading process design for AWE plants from conceptual to detailed phases
- Delivering engineering packages across FEL2/3 and execution stages
- Providing subject matter expertise on AWE and hydrogen plant design
- Participating in hazard studies, SIL and LOPA assessments
- Collaborating with technology teams to deepen understanding of AWE systems
- Developing technical documentation, design guides, and standard templates
- Supporting project delivery with occasional UK and international travel
What you'll need to succeed

What you'll get in return
- Proven experience in hydrogen or chlor-alkali sectors (preferred)
- Strong background in leading process design for multi-discipline projects
- Excellent understanding of process safety management (hydrogen safety a plus)
- Skilled in process simulation tools such as Aspen or HYSYS
- Degree in Chemical Engineering (Chartered status preferred)
- Strong communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English
