Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer -
Your new company
We are currently working on behalf of a client of ours who are in search of a maintenance engineer for one of their sites in Gravesend, Kent.
Your new role
- Ensure the timely completion of all PPM activities as required, and provide feedback to the Senior Engineer to enhance the PPM system and its activities.
- Collaborate closely with the Engineer on the opposite shift to guarantee daily handover of ongoing activities, and share all necessary information and practices.
- Contribute knowledge and suggestions for the continuous improvement of plant, machinery, and maintenance activities. Work alongside the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager to pinpoint persistent issues and devise appropriate solutions.
- As a member of the Engineering team, strive to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness concerning replacement parts and consumables.
- Carry out equipment repairs in a safe and prompt manner, ensuring constant updates on progress are provided to production.
- Perform remedial engineering works to equipment or site as directed by the Engineering Manager.
- Communicate any safety risks or potential equipment or site failures to the Manager.
- Collaborate with the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager to ensure contractors adhere to site Health and Safety rules and procedures and work safely on site.
- Ensure all activities comply with the Site Health and Safety instructions, the SSG Health and Safety manual, and relevant engineering standards.
- Report any incidents, accidents, and near misses in line with Health and Safety Policies.
- Adhere to safe systems of work and best practice procedures.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
- Uphold the Company’s discipline, rules, and standards.
- Ensure the company assets are maintained to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Foster excellent communication between production staff and co-workers.
What you'll need to succeed
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). -
- Electrical Installation Maintenance
- Mechanical Fabrication/Maintenance.
- Electronic fault-finding to component level.
- The ability to develop effective working relationships across all levels of management and staff and work as part of a team.
- Must possess a recognised qualification relevant to the role (e.g. mechanical or electrical C&G).
- Skilled in both Electrical and Mechanical trades: Apprenticeship with indentures preferred.
- Preferred knowledge of other engineering disciplines, including pneumatics, hydraulics, steam systems.
