Senior Mechanical Design Engineer: Nottingham

Your new role
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Building Services (MEP) team based in Nottingham.
You will play a key role in the design, coordination and delivery of mechanical building services systems, supporting projects from concept through to completion. Working within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment, you will collaborate closely with electrical engineers, BIM technicians and other design disciplines to deliver efficient, innovative and sustainable mechanical solutions.
The role also offers the opportunity to support junior team members and contribute to project planning and delivery.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will have:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
Proven experience delivering mechanical building services design within an MEP consultancy environment
A strong understanding of HVAC systems and building services design principles
Experience working across multiple project stages, from concept through to construction
The ability to manage workloads independently while working collaboratively within a team
Strong communication skills and confidence in a client‑facing role
Desirable:
Working towards or having achieved Chartered status (e.g. via CIBSE)
Experience working within a BIM‑led environment, including Autodesk Revit
Knowledge of sustainable design, decarbonisation and energy‑efficient solutions
Background within a multidisciplinary consultancy
