Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - £40,000 to £60,000 - Staffordshire

Your new role
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for various building projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and reports using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design tools.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to inform design decisions.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Ensure all designs are energy-efficient and sustainable, incorporating the latest technologies and best practices.
- Conduct feasibility studies, prepare budget estimates, and manage financial aspects of projects.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, standards, and regulations.
What you'll need to succeed
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Extensive experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably within the building services sector.
- Proficiency in using design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and CYMAP.
- Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, architects, and other stakeholders.
- A thorough understanding of relevant standards, regulations, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
- Experience in sustainable design and energy-efficient systems, including knowledge of BREEAM and other environmental assessment methods.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
