Your new role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design and management of mechanical services for a variety of building projects. You will work closely with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, sustainable designs that meet project requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for various building projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and reports using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design tools.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to inform design decisions.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Ensure all designs are energy-efficient and sustainable, incorporating the latest technologies and best practices.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, prepare budget estimates, and manage financial aspects of projects.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, standards, and regulations.

What you'll need to succeed

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced mechanical design engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions. Ideally, you will have:
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably within the building services sector.
  • Proficiency in using design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and CYMAP.
  • Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, architects, and other stakeholders.
  • A thorough understanding of relevant standards, regulations, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in sustainable design and energy-efficient systems, including knowledge of BREEAM and other environmental assessment methods.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
