SOX Senior Manager - Infrastructure - London - £75,000 - £85,000

Your new company

A large, international infrastructure business with a significant capital programme and a strong reputation for delivering complex, high‑profile projects. Due to continued growth and increasing regulatory obligations, the organisation is expanding its controls and compliance function and is seeking a highly skilled SOX Senior Manager to lead its group-wide SOX programme.

Your new role

Reporting to senior leadership, you will take ownership of the organisation’s SOX framework, ensuring the effective design, implementation, and ongoing management of internal controls over financial reporting.
You will:
  • Lead the end‑to‑end SOX compliance programme, including scoping, documentation, testing and reporting.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure financial processes adhere to SOX requirements and internal control best practice.
  • Partner with Finance, Technology, Operations and Risk teams to strengthen control maturity across the business.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Drive continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to automate, streamline and enhance controls.
  • Provide training and guidance to the wider business, raising awareness and embedding a strong controls culture.
  • Present regular updates, deficiencies, and remediation progress to senior stakeholders and the Audit Committee.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A recognised accounting qualification (ACA or equivalent).
  • Significant experience managing SOX programmes within a large, multi‑entity or complex organisation.
  • Strong technical knowledge of internal controls, financial processes and risk management.
  • Previous experience within infrastructure, engineering, utilities, construction or a similar environment is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to challenge constructively, influence decision‑making and operate at senior levels.
  • A proactive, solutions‑driven mindset with a commitment to driving continuous improvement.
