Interim Management accountant - 6 Month contact - Leeds - £60,000

Hays are seeking an interim Management Accountant for a national waste management company based in Leeds. This fantastic opportunity is a 6-month fixed-term contract working with some of the best professionals in the industry.

Your new role


This is a 6-month fixed term role with the possibility of moving to permanent, with an industry competitive salary of £60,000 per annum depending on experience. The role includes but isn’t exclusive too:

Management Accounts: Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and provide detailed explanations.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Cost Analysis: Analyse manufacturing costs and provide insights to improve cost efficiency.

Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.

Business Partnering: Collaborate with various departments, including production and supply chain, to gather financial data and provide financial guidance.

Ad-hoc Projects: Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as required.

What you'll need to succeed


  • Preferably, fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), although qualified by experience, will be considered
  • Solid background in management accounting, ideally in the construction industry
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite and financial software
