Hays Accountancy & Finance are recruiting for a leading public sector organisation in Northern Ireland, who are seeking a Management Accountant to join their finance team and play a key role in delivering high-quality financial support across the organisation.
As a Management Accountant, you will work closely with senior finance leaders to provide expert financial analysis, develop business cases, and support budget holders in achieving effective financial management. This is a dynamic role that combines strategic planning, financial reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

Your new role
  • Provide financial support and advice to senior managers and budget holders.
  • Lead the development of business cases and service proposals through detailed costing and analysis.
  • Monitor financial performance, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and capital reporting.
  • Assist in budget setting, monitoring, and reporting using financial systems.
  • Deliver training and support to non-finance managers on budgetary control.
  • Liaise with internal and external audit teams and ensure compliance with recommendations.
  • Support continuous improvement in financial processes and service delivery.


What you'll need to succeed
  • Qualified accountant with at least 3 years’ experience in financial management.
  • Minimum 1 year’s experience in budgetary control and management accounting.
  • Minimum 1 year’s experience in business case development.
  • Proven ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve financial outcomes.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent for financial analysis and reporting.
