Up to £72,000 + Benefits

Our client, a progressive local authority, is seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to lead a team of five direct reports and drive strategic financial decision-making across the organisation.


About the Role – Reporting as the Service Lead for Management Accounting, Revenues & Benefits, you’ll be responsible for:
  • Leading a team of Finance Managers, Senior Accountants, Accountants & Assistant Accountants.
  • Overseeing the delivery of accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Providing expert financial advice to senior stakeholders and elected members.
  • Driving service improvement projects and implementing best practice financial systems.
  • Supporting statutory reporting and financial statement preparation.
  • Deputising for the Service Lead when required.


What You’ll Bring
  • A fully qualified accountant
    (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA) with at least 5 years’ post-qualification experience.
  • Proven experience managing finance teams and delivering strategic financial advice.
  • A CV that shows a clear upward career trajectory and leadership potential.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
