Your new role
In this role, you will lead their client accounts team based in Norwich City Centre. The role of Client Accounting / Property Accounting Manager is to ensure the effective financial management of client property portfolios and align processes across the department.
- Understanding and keeping up to date with rules and regulations of service charges
- Liaising with Accountants and property managers to ensure compliance with RICS guidelines
- Liaising with Partners and senior staff prior to the take on of new accounts/properties.
- Relationship building and management of Partners expectations involving visits to other offices.
- Annual/ Quarterly overseas tax reports
- Maintain department's metrics/KPI’s.
- Unsettled receipts after clients
- Arrears chasing
- New client/tenant set-ups.
- Transfer accounts
- Stand-alone bank reconciliations
- First point of contact for staff and client complaints
- Arrange and conduct training for new members or staff.
- Understanding of team responsibilities to cover during periods of annual leave/absence.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting for client property portfolios, including budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in cash flow management, balance sheet control, and budget compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, surveyors, and internal departments.
- Act as a point of contact for client finance teams, providing regular updates and resolving any financial queries.
- Standardise workflows and procedures across the team to ensure consistent service delivery and compliance.
This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours between Monday and Friday. Core hours in the business are 9-5.30, but there is flexibility for the right applicant. A hybrid working policy is in place of up to 1 day per week working remotely, but this is currently under review and could increase in the near future.
What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally be a fully qualified accountant and have experience working within property or agricultural industries. You will ideally have experience using Qube or Re-Leased software packages and have exposure to a system's migration process, but this is not essential. You will have strong leadership qualities, staff management experience and take a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will have strong analytical skills and be accustomed to working with a portfolio of clients.
