Your new role
A key Senior Finance Business Partner role, reporting to the Head of Finance. The role supports the Head of Cost Ownership in providing finance support to the Functional Directors and Senior Finance Leadership Team, as well as delivering key financial processes including month end and the Annual Operating Plan. The main activities of the role include: Ensuring appropriate cost control around activities of several functions. Ensuring that actual, forecast and budgeted costs are fully understood by budget holders at all times. Acting as a conduit for all cost issues and ensuring appropriate information is provided. Supporting the identification and delivery of cost-saving initiatives. Providing insightful MI and commentary. Providing support to business planning, budgeting and forecasting activity including consolidation. Providing commercial support and, as appropriate, challenge to proposed activity, performing financial analysis including investment appraisal as necessary. Providing support and analysis to strategy proposals, including scenario and sensitivity analysis, commercial appraisals. You'll be a true partner to the Functional leadership team, building strong relationships with key stakeholders and internal customers.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a fully qualified accountant, with extensive experience in Finance Business Partner roles, in large and complex businesses.
You'll have a strong background in commercial finance, including : reporting, planning, forecasting, cost control and business partnering. You'll be flexible, objective and pragmatic. Able to work under significant pressure, handling multiple priorities and be capable of providing insightful and balanced views on business risks and issues. You'll have well-developed influencing skills and negotiation skills and the ability to achieve results and successful outcomes from others. Objective, analytical and lateral thinking with a ‘can-do’ attitude with the ability to summarise and communicate complicated technical issues. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
