Senior Finance Business Partner - Up to £70,000 per annum - On-site/flexible

Your new company is a well-known engineering firm with headquarters in the UK. They are experts in the planning, execution, and upkeep of intricate, multidisciplinary projects in a range of industries, such as the environment, energy, and transportation. Their services guarantee the least amount of disturbance to end customers, from original design and planning to execution and continuing maintenance.
Your new role
Key responsibilities:
• Examine our active commercial projects' key financial data to make sure accounting integrity is upheld at period's end.
• Gather and compile data from various sources and use the right analytical tools to provide finance and non-financial managers with an overall analysis.
• Collaborate with Regional Commercial Directors to manage risk in their project portfolios and help them expand their companies through assistance for bids and tenders.
• Assist Regional Commercial Managers with the contract portfolio's external audit.
• Manage the internal controls, processes, and procedures while collaborating with the financial and commercial departments.
• Serve as the organisation's subject matter expert in contract accounting and have an impact on system development.
• Assist with any necessary analysis brought about by M&A activities inside the company.
• Take the lead in having the company's insurance broker complete the yearly insurance questionnaire.
• Implement and offer enhanced management information, overall performance, and support for company objectives.
• Generate management account data in accordance with the allotted amount to assist forecasting and budgeting.
• To establish productive working relationships with those in charge of the budget, pressing for changes as needed.
• Guarantee the accuracy of contract working capital reporting, which includes projecting weekly contract receipts, aging debtors, challenging aged contract work-in-progress (WIP) regions, and other contract risk areas.
• Where assessing payments to make sure our suppliers are paid on time and in accordance with the Prompt Payment Code of practice, we may raise cash balances on contracts with commercial teams where needed.
• Overseeing ongoing development and doing additional tasks as needed.
• Build connections with other important company players.

What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in a senior financial role, preferably within the engineering or construction
- Relevant accounting qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) are highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and leadership skills.
- The ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
