Senior Estimator

Your new company

You’ll be joining an ambitious, design‑led construction business that prides itself on innovation, commercial discipline and long‑term client relationships. The organisation is growing steadily and now requires a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to strengthen its commercial and pre‑construction capabilities. The environment is entrepreneurial, quality‑focused and ideal for someone who wants to make a measurable impact while enjoying the option of a part‑time, office‑based role in Peterborough.

Your new role

As the Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator, you will take ownership of estimating new projects, reviewing and negotiating contract terms, analysing CVRs and leading special projects aimed at reducing build costs. You’ll work across pre‑construction, construction and post‑construction stages, collaborating closely with senior leadership to add value through design, procurement and commercial strategy. Core responsibilities include preparing tenders and budgets, managing procurement of major packages, producing cashflows, negotiating agreements (including JCT and bespoke contracts), overseeing cost‑saving initiatives, resolving contractual issues and supporting the business with commercial reporting and insurance‑related information.

What you'll need to succeed

You’ll bring strong technical capability, excellent contractual knowledge and a proven ability to negotiate effectively. A background in both estimating and quantity surveying is essential, along with confidence in reviewing contracts, managing risk and driving commercial performance. You’ll be detail‑focused, organised and able to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and client care. A flair for design and value engineering, plus the ability to build long‑term relationships with clients, consultants and suppliers, will set you apart. This role is well suited to someone who wants to apply extensive experience in a flexible, impactful position.

What you'll get in return

You’ll join a forward‑thinking business where you’ll work closely with senior leadership, influence commercial strategy and play a key role in improving cost, quality and project outcomes. The role offers autonomy, impact and the option to structure your working pattern around part‑time flexibility.
