Your new company
A growing and forward-thinking building services consultancy and contractor with around 100 employees, this organisation has developed a strong reputation for delivering high-quality sustainable design solutions. Their sustainability function, based in their Kettering office, has seen significant growth over the past 18 months and now plays a key role across a diverse project portfolio.
The sustainability team currently consists of three specialists, working across energy strategies, whole life carbon assessments and BREEAM. Due to continued project growth, they are now seeking a Junior Energy Modeller to join their collaborative and supportive team.
Your new role
As a Junior Energy Modeller, you will support the delivery of energy and sustainability assessments across a varied range of projects. Projects are varied and include care homes, nurseries, schools and other non-residential developments, offering strong exposure across the full lifecycle of sustainable design.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Producing energy models using TAS software
- Supporting the development of energy strategies at pre-planning stage
- Contributing to overheating assessments and building performance analysis
- Assisting with whole life carbon assessments (training provided if required)
- Working closely with senior consultants across planning, consultancy and delivery stages
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in energy modelling or building physics (consultancy or similar environment)
- Familiarity with TAS or a willingness to develop within it
- A strong interest in sustainability, building performance and low-carbon design
- A proactive attitude with a genuine desire to develop your career long-term
- Any exposure to whole life carbon or BREEAM would be advantageous but not essential
This role would suit a junior or intermediate-level candidate looking to build a long-term career in sustainability consultancy.
What you'll get in return
- Competitive salary of £30,000 – £35,000 (flexible for the right candidate)
- Hybrid working, typically 2 days working from home
- Flexible working hours (8:30am–5:00pm core with flexibility)
- 25 days annual leave with option to buy/sell (up to 30 days)
- Private healthcare
- Clear and rapid progression opportunities, with a pathway to Associate Director level
- Exposure to planning, consultancy and contracting stages of projects
- Collaborative team environment with regular social events (including summer and Christmas events)
