My client, a nationally respected building services consultancy, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team in the Greater Southampton area. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects with a strong focus on decarbonisation and sustainability.
About the Role:
- The successful candidate will support the design and delivery of electrical building services projects across a variety of sectors. Current and upcoming projects include:
- Decarbonisation schemes for hospitals and public sector estates
- New-build educational facilities
- Healthcare infrastructure upgrades
This role is ideally suited to a Junior to Intermediate level Electrical Engineer with a passion for sustainable design and a desire to work on technically challenging and meaningful projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design of electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, containment, and fire alarms
- Production of detailed design drawings and specifications
- Collaboration with mechanical engineers and other disciplines
- Site visits, surveys, and client meetings
- Supporting project delivery and contributing to technical development
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience in electrical design within a consultancy or contractor environment
- Understanding of UK building regulations and relevant standards (e.g. BS 7671)
- Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Amtech or similar
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
