Senior Electrical Engineer
Authorising Engineer, MOD Contract
Salary: £50,000 to £58,000 + £3,600 car allowance
Location: Home based, ideally Midlands or surrounding areas, with national travel
Contract: Permanent, full time

Senior Electrical Engineer to support their Corporate Functions team.
This is a critical Authorising Engineer role within a complex defence estate and will suit a technically strong electrical professional who is comfortable operating at a national level, providing assurance, leadership and compliance across multiple sites.
The role
As Senior Electrical Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and assurance across electrical systems, ensuring full compliance with JSP375 and Safe Systems of Work. Working closely with Authorised Persons, operational teams and client stakeholders, you will play a key role in maintaining safety, performance and governance across the estate.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Acting as Authorising Engineer for electrical systems across a national portfolio
  • Providing technical guidance and oversight to Authorised Persons
  • Conducting site inspections, audits and risk assessments
  • Issuing audit reports and managing action plans
  • Supporting investigations into incidents and permit to work activities
  • Advising on JSP375 compliance for new works, projects and asset modifications
  • Providing technical input into commissioning and major project delivery
What we are looking for
This role has strict compliance requirements. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer status is essential.
  • Strong electrical bias with experience in complex or high risk environments
  • In depth knowledge of JSP375 and Safe Systems of Work
  • Experience operating in a technical assurance or authorising role
  • Willingness to travel nationally as required
  • Full UK driving licence
