Principal / Senior Electrical Engineer: Birmingham

Your new role
As a Principal / Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role within the Building Services team based in Nottingham, contributing to the successful delivery of a range of technically challenging projects.
You will lead on electrical design, manage projects from concept through to completion, and support the development of junior engineers. The role will involve working closely with clients, particularly on MoD and MoJ projects across the UK, ensuring all work is delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget.
Key duties include:
Leading electrical design and technical delivery across multiple projects
Preparing specifications, reports, and detailed design drawings
Managing project lifecycles and client relationships
Reviewing tenders and overseeing site works
Mentoring and supporting junior engineers
Contributing to business development and repeat client engagement
Please note: Due to the nature of the work, you must hold UK SC Clearance or be eligible to obtain it.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:- A Degree or Masters in Electrical Engineering (or similar)
- Membership with CIBSE, IET, or equivalent
- Chartered Engineer status (or be working towards it)
- Proven experience within building services design and project delivery
- Experience managing or mentoring junior engineers
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and design software such as Amtech
- Strong knowledge of building regulations, CIBSE guides, and sustainability standards
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
