Senior/Principal Electrical Design Engineer

Your new company

Opportunity to join a growing, sustainability-led building services' consultancy. With a team of over 60 specialists, they deliver innovative mechanical and electrical engineering solutions across a diverse range of sectors, including heritage and conservation, rail and transport infrastructure, education, healthcare, commercial developments, hospitality, and public sector projects.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer to join their Oxford office.

Your new role

  • Leading project surveys and site inspections
  • Undertaking feasibility studies and technical assessments
  • Producing and reviewing electrical services designs
  • Preparing specifications and technical documentation
  • Carrying out on-site supervision and inspections
  • Contract administration duties
  • Managing electrical services installations through project delivery
  • Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and technicians
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in line with quality, programme and budget requirements
  • Assisting with fee proposals, business development activities and project financial management as your career progresses.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 3–5 years' experience in building services design
  • Experience managing and mentoring junior engineers
  • Project experience across multiple sectors
  • Strong technical knowledge of Electrical design software and AutoCAD
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Desirable experience includes:
  • Revit knowledge and BIM experience
  • Exposure to Electrical design and relevant software
  • An interest in sustainable and low-energy building design
