Permanent job for Electrical Design Engineer working with consultancy in the North West

Your new role
You will be working alongside engineers, surveyors and senior professionals. There will be a varied workload of public and private sector projects. You will be leading and developing detailed briefs in conjunction with clients and senior colleagues allowing you to establish and maintain client relationships. You will carry out site surveys and prepare reports including compliance, condition and defect analysis as well as life cycle and cost data analysis. In addition, you will be liaising with clients, contractors and consultants to develop design and specification work in order to win new business by tender. You will assist other senior team members on project finances, recruitment and mentoring with a view to working toward an associate level.
Carry out site surveys (including compliance, condition & defect analysis). • Prepare reports (including remedial works, life cycle & cost data). • Review and comment on ‘As Built’ data. • Carry out design and specification work and preparing tender information. • Liaise with clients, contractors & other consultants (internal and external). • Assist senior team members with project finances, recruitment, and mentoring. • Work towards progression to Associate level.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need a degree in Building Services HND/HNC or equivalent with 10 years post degree experience in the public or private sector particularly in the Health Sector. You will need to be able to establish and develop good working relationships with both professionals and clients through good written and verbal communication. You will need to be able to work with minimal supervision, prioritising your workload, to meet deadlines using a variety of design tools such as AutoCAD, Amtec or similar.
You will need to be ACBSIE or MIET registered and as such have an excellent understanding of current regulations, Health sector standards and CIBSE guides and their implications on design and maintenance of buildings. You will need to be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to work and willingness to travel/stay away from home from time to time. As such a full UK driving Licence is required.
