We are partnering with a maritime organisation based in Belfast. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking team that is driving change in the industry.

Your new role
As Senior Buyer, you will take ownership of procurement activities for advanced components and associated equipment, while leading a small team of buyers. Your responsibilities will include developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier performance, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with internal policies. You’ll play a key role in supporting production readiness and operational planning, as well as driving improvements in ERP systems and procurement processes. This position combines strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, requiring strong leadership and commercial acumen.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Degree-level qualification in supply chain, business, engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic procurement and cost management.
  • Strong background in supplier relationship management and contract negotiation.
  • Proven ability to manage complex purchasing requirements within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and process optimisation.
    Desirable:
  • Professional membership (CIPS/APICS).
  • Experience in composite or mechanical engineering procurement.
