Senior Buyer – Indirects

Your new company

Are you an experienced procurement professional ready to take the lead on strategic sourcing initiatives? We’re partnering with a leading organisation seeking a Senior Buyer to drive procurement excellence across key categories and projects. This is a new role to work alongside the current standalone procurement manager. You will report directly to the Finance Director.


Your new role

In this pivotal role, you’ll shape and implement procurement strategies that deliver cost efficiency, quality, and timely results. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, you’ll negotiate supplier contracts, manage performance, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Your expertise will help unlock commercial value and support ambitious business objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with UK and Group goals.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts across assigned categories.
  • Drive cost savings, mitigate risk, and enhance commercial leverage.
  • Partner with General Managers and stakeholders across four UK regions.
  • Deliver year-on-year improvements through supplier collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting.
  • Support Group initiatives and leverage spend for maximum value.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
  • Proven procurement expertise.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • MCIPS qualification is a plus.
