Our client is a prestigious employer of choice in the Cambridgeshire area and world renowned in their sector. Working on an industry-leading project, this role as a buyer is being created to support the purchasing team whilst the department is going through a period of transition.
Your new role
You will be working within the transactional purchasing team as part of a stable team looking to expand over the coming months. You will be working in the following areas:
- Transactional processing: Create routine purchase orders in line with requests and established processes. Where queries are raised, resolve anomalies between purchase order and invoice, liaise with suppliers with regard to goods received, coordinate returns. Review and investigate open purchase orders and other month-end and year-end reports. Assist with processing of supplier invoices, checking statements, and processing expense claims.
- Compliance: Provide advice and guidance regarding low and medium procurement and logistics procedures. Monitor incoming purchase requests and triage following established procedures.
- Dispensations: Prepare information required to submit dispensations. Provide a recommendation for dispensation approval or rejection.
- Supplier set-up: Prepare information required for supplier set-up. Request updates to the supplier database in line with established processes, as required.
- Record keeping: maintaining, file and archive financial records, ensuring there is accessible and comprehensive documentation.
