Senior Ecologist - Worcestershire - £32k - £40k DOE - Working for an award-winning SME

Your new role
You'll be working with ecologists with varying levels of experience to deliver a range of ecological solutions for clients such as; private landowners, house builders, councils & local authorities, universities, statutory bodies and charities, architects, planning agents and many more...

Overnight surveys are limited to one p/week for Senior Ecologists.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Project Management - co-ordination of field surveys, managing project budgets, supporting with client liaison and consultations with statutory and non-statutory consultees.
  • Desk studies – coordinating and assessing existing ecological information.
  • Ecological field surveys and coordinating junior members of staff.
  • Supporting with assessment of the impacts of proposed developments, developing recommendations for the mitigation of ecological impacts.
  • Supporting with the undertaking of protected species mitigation licences (from small to complex).
  • PEA, UKHab, BNG, BREEAM and NVC surveys.
  • Production of survey reports, drafting Environmental Statement chapters and other documents to support planning.
  • Supporting senior members of staff.
  • General administrative / management tasks.

What you'll need to succeed

Key Requirements:
  • Established or aspiring Senior Ecologist with consultancy experinece.
  • Experienced in BNG.
  • Experienced in PEAs.
  • Experience in bat development licensing would be desirable.
  • Proven track record in project management.
  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player mindset
  • Full UK driving license and vehicle
