Senior Accountant - Permament - Hybrid - Aberystwyth

Hays Senior Finance South Wales are recruiting for a Senior Accountant on a permanent basis to join a values-driven organisation with a strong social purpose.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to play a key role in delivering high-quality financial management, reporting and planning services. This position will support the organisation's strategic objectives by providing robust financial information, leading budgeting processes and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management
  • Produce monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy, quality and timely delivery.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end processes, including accruals, prepayments and financial period close procedures.
  • Provide responsive and customer-focused financial reporting to internal stakeholders, committees and boards.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and financial planning process, coordinating both capital and revenue budgets.
  • Support the development of long-term financial planning models and scenario analysis for senior leadership and governance groups.
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end financial accounts.
  • Produce financial information required for regulatory and statutory returns.
  • Lead procurement activities to ensure value for money and effective use of resources.
  • Support the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely supplier payments, policy compliance and strong supplier relationships.

Person Specification
  • Membership of a recognised professional accounting body (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ICAEW).
  • Experience delivering a finance service, ideally within a not-for-profit or similar environment.
  • Significant experience producing management accounts.
  • Experience of budget preparation, forecasting and budgetary control.
Our client has a hybrid policy with three days on site and two days from home.
