We are actively seeking dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants to meet the growing demand for supply staff. Role Overview
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting individual students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Your work will directly contribute to creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

Location: Evesham (on-site)
Contract type: Temporary, Full-time or part-time, flexible daily availability depending on your needs

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous Experience: At least 40 days of experience as Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
  • Passion: Genuine interest in working with children with Special Educational Needs.


Responsibilities (may vary depending on specific role):

  • Classroom Preparation: Set up classrooms before lessons and maintain a safe, clean environment.
  • Personalized Support: Provide 1:1 care to students with SEN, including those with physical or mental impairments, learning difficulties (e.g., dyslexia), ADHD, or ASD.
  • Collaboration: Assist teachers in preparing lesson materials and managing school equipment.
  • Progress Tracking: Record and report students’ progress to the teacher.
  • Focus and Behaviour: Help students stay focused during class hours and support teachers in managing student behaviour.
  • Core Skills Development: Work with students to improve core skills such as reading and writing.
  • Well-Being: Look after and manage students who may be unwell or upset.

Skills and Competencies (may vary depending on specific role):

  • Understanding of SEN: Familiarity with various special educational needs.
  • Guidance and Articulate Communication: Ability to guide and support children aged 5-11, communicate clearly, and build positive relationships.
  • Creating an Inclusive Environment: Create an encouraging and appropriate learning environment for students with SEN.
  • Empathy and Sensitivity: Show empathy, understanding, and encouragement toward students’ needs.
  • Tech Proficiency: Comfortable using computers and handheld devices.
  • Resilience: Respond calmly and constructively under stress.
  • Flexibility: Adapt to varying classroom situations and individual needs.

Desired Qualifications (not essential):

  • Bachelor’s Degree: In Education or a related field.
  • Level 2 or 3 Certificate: Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or similar.
  • Level 3 Diploma: Childcare and Education or similar.
  • T Level: Education and Early Years or similar.
