SEN Teaching Assistant - PMLD
Job Description:
Hays Education is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-respected primary SEN school in Didsbury, seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is specifically within a school catering to pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to pupils with PMLD, ensuring their individual needs are met.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Support the class teacher in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Help with personal care tasks, including feeding and toileting, as required.
- Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere to promote student engagement and learning.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members, parents, and external professionals.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly PMLD, is highly desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are advantageous.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
