SEN Teaching Assistant (EAST LONDON)

Location: East London
Salary: £140.28 - £180.56 per day
Contract: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Start date: Immediately

They have a dedicated and experienced SEND team that works closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure that all pupils receive the best possible support and education.

About the role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:
  • Supporting pupils with SEND in the classroom, either individually or in small groups
  • Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans (BSPs) under the guidance of the SENCO and class teachers
  • Developing positive relationships with pupils and encouraging their participation and engagement in learning activities
  • Assisting pupils with their personal, social, and emotional development
  • Monitoring and recording pupils' progress and providing feedback to the SENCO and class teachers
  • Attending training and meetings as required

About you
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
  • Have a relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning, such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Have previous experience of working with children with SEND, preferably in a primary school setting
  • Have knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and the National Curriculum
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be patient, empathetic and resilient
  • Be able to work as part of a team and independently
  • Be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check
