Job description:
This local BS16 school is looking for a KS2 Teaching Assistant that specialises in ASD to join their SEND team as soon as possible. The successful candidate will work 1:1 with a Year 4 student who has behavioural difficulties and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This role requires patience, understanding, and the ability to build a trusting relationship with the child to support their learning and development. This is a long-term, full-time role until the end of the academic year.
What you'll need to succeed :
- Provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 student with behavioural problems and ASD.- Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Assist the student with academic tasks and social interactions.
- Monitor and record the student's progress and report to the SENCO and class teacher.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the student's needs are met.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with behavioural difficulties and ASD.- A relevant qualification in education or child development (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
