Project Accountant - Up to £53,000 - Hybrid/Remote working!

Your new company

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a public sector organisation to join a transformative programme aimed at revolutionising access to life-saving medicines and innovative treatments. This programme is supported by almost £100 million investment and offers a unique chance to play a critical role in delivering financial expertise that will directly impact the healthcare sector across Wales.

Your new role

As a Project Accountant, you will provide comprehensive financial management advice and support to stakeholders across the organisation. This role will see you actively contributing to the development of financial models and business cases for significant capital projects, monitoring programme finances, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Collaborate with budget holders, clinicians, and managers to develop financial plans that align with organisational strategy.
  • Prepare financial models and appraise capital investments, equipment purchases, and service contracts.
  • Lead the financial evaluation of business cases for revenue and capital projects.
  • Produce regular financial reports, provide insights, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Actively participate in monthly management meetings to address financial performance issues.
  • Deliver financial training to non-finance managers to strengthen organisational capabilities.
  • Represent and deputise for senior programme leads where required.

What you'll get in return

To thrive in this role, you will have experience in financial management within a complex organisation, ideally with exposure to public sector environments. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement are essential.

This role offers an attractive benefits package, including:
  • Clear development pathways over the next few years.
  • Generous pension scheme of 20%+ employer contributions.
  • 33+ day annual leave entitlement
  • Access to childcare vouchers, cycle-to-work schemes, car lease options, and more.
  • A massive variety of retail and service discounts.
