We’re working exclusively with a well-established and rapidly expanding logistics business that has continued to grow year after year. They are now seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their Head Office in Burnley. Your new role

As the Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in the day‑to‑day running of the finance function. You’ll be working within a busy yet supportive team, with the chance to take on additional responsibilities over time.


Key duties include:

  • Daily use of Sage Line 50 as the primary finance system

  • Processing and managing supplier invoices

  • Accurate coding and allocation of costs

  • Supplier statement reconciliations and resolving discrepancies

  • Preparing and processing supplier payments

  • Assisting with month‑end procedures and financial reporting

  • Working across multiple companies within the group

  • Ad‑hoc finance duties as required

  • Occasional payroll support (weekly or monthly) to provide holiday cover

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this Accounts Assistant position, you will need:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar finance role
  • Experience using Sage Line 50 (desirable)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Working towards AAT (desirable, not essential)
  • Excellent numerical and analytical ability
  • Strong organisation skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong time‑management skills with the ability to meet strict deadline
