Administration Lead – East Lancashire School – Start ASAP

Your new company

A school in the East Lancashire area is seeking an experienced and highly organised School Administration Lead to join their dedicated team on a full‑time, full‑year basis. This is a pivotal role within the school, supporting senior leadership, managing admissions, coordinating staffing processes, and ensuring the smooth running of all administrative operations. School experience is preferred, as is a start in June or July.

Your new role

As the School Administration Lead, you will oversee a wide range of administrative, admissions, staffing, and compliance functions.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Referrals & Admissions – managing LA consultations, coordinating assessment and parental visits, maintaining referral records, updating information, and ensuring all documentation is processed accurately.
  • Fees & Funding – checking termly headcount, issuing starter/leaver forms and updating income spreadsheets
  • Senior Leadership Team Support - producing agendas, attending and minuting weekly SLT meetings, distributing minutes, and tracking actions.
  • Staffing Administration - posting vacancies, liaising with SLT on shortlisting, arranging interviews, processing contracts, DBS checks, maintaining the Single Central Register, and updating staffing records.
  • Training Coordination - arranging statutory training, monitoring compliance, booking courses, diarising sessions, and communicating training information to staff.
  • General Administration - PA support to the Headteacher, maintaining calendars, GDPR updates, pupil filing, managing communication systems, updating school documentation, managing DfE transfers, GDPR, and responding to a wide range of parent and stakeholder enquiries.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced administrator with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload. You will bring:

  • Experience in a school or education setting (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence handling sensitive information and maintaining compliance
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused approach and the ability to work independently
