Assistant Company Secretary position – Doncaster
Your new role
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for corporate governance? We’re looking for an Assistant Company Secretary to provide vital support across a wide range of governance activities within a dynamic and collaborative environment. This is a hybrid role (3 days in the office, 2 days from home), with a flexible 37.5-hour working week.
- Experience in a company secretarial or governance-focused role, ideally within a group structure
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- High attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and reviewing formal documentation
- Excellent written communication skills, including minute-taking
- Confidence using Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel, and Visio
- A discreet and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- A flexible, “can-do” attitude with professionalism and integrity
- Scheduling and supporting Board and committee meetings, including logistics, agendas, minute-taking, and follow-up actions
- Maintaining UK statutory records and ensuring timely filings with Companies House
- Supporting the management of Group corporate structures, including registers, spreadsheets, and due diligence
- Formatting and proofreading official documents and corporate communications
- Assisting with liquidations and dissolutions of dormant subsidiaries
- Contributing to governance initiatives such as board effectiveness reviews
What you'll need to succeed
You must have worked in a similar role within governance or are currently working as an assistant co/sec. You will be organised, be able to work completely confidentially, have strong written skills (to be able to take detailed minutes) and be able to use all the Microsoft packages. Ideally, you will use Visio, although it can be trained. You must have worked with an SLT/Board.
