Part‑time Accounts Assistant role specialising in purchase ledger, 21 hours per week, office‑based.

Your new company
An established and supportive organisation based in Aylesbury is seeking a dedicated Accounts Assistant to join their Finance team on a part‑time basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong purchase ledger experience who enjoys working within a collaborative office environment.

Your new role
Working 21 hours per week, you will be required to work 3 days in the office (this is not a hybrid role). You will be responsible for a variety of Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger duties, including:
  • Processing supplier invoices and storing documents within the finance system.
  • Matching purchase orders to invoices.
  • Raising purchase orders for non‑stock items when required.
  • Reconciling supplier statements to ensure all items are accounted for.
  • Preparing supplier payment runs, including uploading to the bank and posting processed entries.
  • Supporting month‑end close processes.
  • Handling supplier queries and resolving invoice discrepancies.
  • Completing ad hoc finance tasks when needed.
This position is a 6‑month contract with a strong potential to extend or become permanent depending on business requirements.

What you'll need to succeed
You will bring:
  • Strong experience in Accounts Payable and Purchase Ledger.
  • A good educational background; finance qualifications desirable.
  • Solid IT skills, especially Excel and Word.
  • Accurate numerical skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience using MS Business Central is highly desirable.
  • A proactive, organised, and positive approach to your workload.
