Your new role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth running of the school by supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that students follow the lesson plan provided, stay on task, and complete their work. Your role will involve managing classroom behaviour and offering support to KS3 and KS4 students across a variety of subjects. This position is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a secondary school setting while contributing to the overall success of the school.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this role, you’ll need to have experience working with young people in an educational setting. While a teaching qualification is not necessary, previous experience as a teaching assistant, cover supervisor, or in a similar role is highly beneficial. You should be confident in managing classroom behaviour, supporting students with different learning needs, and maintaining a positive and productive learning environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to various subjects will also be essential.
