An inclusive and supportive SEMH specialist school in the Stockport area is seeking a dedicated and resilient Cover Supervisor to join their team. The school caters to pupils aged 11–16 with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs, often with additional SEND requirements. The school is committed to providing a nurturing environment where every student can thrive both academically and emotionally.

Your new role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lessons across a variety of subjects in the absence of the class teacher. You will manage classroom behaviour, support students with SEMH needs, and ensure a safe and engaging learning environment. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in a specialist setting, particularly those considering a future in teaching or educational psychology.

What you'll need to succeed
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH and/or SEND is essential
Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, empathetic approach
Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
Degree-level education or HLTA qualification is desirable but not essential
