Senior Science Technician role, South Birmingham, Monday - Friday, 08.30am - 16.30pm, to commence after Easter

Are you passionate about science and education? Do you have the skills to support practical learning and inspire young minds? We're looking for a dedicated Interim Senior Science Technician to join our welcoming school in South Birmingham.
This is a great opportunity to work within a supportive science department, helping to deliver engaging and safe practical science experiences for students and bring science to life in everyday life.This is a temporary position to start 13th April 2026, Monday – Friday, 08.30am – 16.30pm. We're seeking someone who brings both technical expertise and a positive, proactive attitude. We are looking for someone who has worked within a school science department and a DBS on the update service would be an advantage.
Your new role
As a Senior Science Technician, you'll play a vital part in the day-to-day running of the science department by:
- Preparing and maintaining resources and specialist equipment for lessons
- Supporting staff and students during practical experiments
- Ensuring all Health and Safety regulations are followed and documented
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly working environment
- Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and keeping accurate records
- Assisting with lesson planning, coursework administration, and classroom tasks
- Supervising students during lessons, exams, and practical’s
- Promoting good behaviour and a purposeful learning atmosphere
- Conducting daily checks for damage or vandalism and arranging repairs as needed
- Lead, support, and coordinate the team of Science Technicians, delegating tasks to ensure efficient operations.
