SEND Science Teacher

Hays Education are currently recruiting a SEND Science Teacher to work for a fantastic SEN School on the Wirral. The school values a supportive environment for both staff and pupils and aims to make confident learners.

The school is seeking an experienced Primary/Secondary SEND Teacher, to work full-time teaching science. This would be a full class teaching position including planning, preparing resources, marking, and carrying out assessments.

Additionally, this role would include responsibilities to support pupils with SEND, you would be expected to work alongside the SENDCO, write EHCPs, action plans and attend staff meetings. The ideal candidate would have previous experience supporting and deploying SEND Teaching Assistants.

This SEND Teacher role is due to start in January 2025 and continue until the end of the academic year with the possibility of going beyond.

What you'll need to succeed
• To hold the relevant teaching qualification - QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
• Excellent knowledge of SEND provision (previous experience, as a SEND Teacher preferred but not required)
• Previous experience working in a similar role.
• Strong interpersonal skills with parents, pupils, and staff
• The ability to manage challenging behaviour.
• To be able to work in partnership with class TA and other staff members.
• To create a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment

• Competitive salary of £34,500-£55000 per annum based on working 5 days per week.
